SPECIAL NOTEThe price of graphene oxide product in the market today largely depends on the QUALITY of the product. One important factor to consider for the quality is the pH value of graphene oxide when it is in the form of dispersion/solution. The preliminary graphene oxide produced by Hummer method has normally a pH value of from 2 to 3 if no washing step is involved in the entire production process. The acidic nature (pH=2-3) of the un-washed grapheme oxide will significantly deteriorate the results of its applications. Therefore, it is advisable to ask a vendor about the pH of the graphene oxide before buying it.Our graphene oxide based products were obtained after steps of repetitive washing with a large amount of distilled water. The final products of our graphene oxide dispersions are close to neutral, having a pH of about 6-7. Our solid grapheme oxide products were obtained after washing and drying and have a pH of about 6-7 when they dissolve into distilled water with the aid of sonication.DescriptionSingle-layered graphene oxide (GO), a new exciting graphene-based nanomaterial, has a wide variety of applications due to its atomic thickness and other excellent properties.
