Absorbable Haemostatic Oxidized Regenerated Cellulose (ORC) ORC is used in surgical practice as an additional means to stop capillary, venous, and minor arterial bleeding. It is used when ligation and other conventional methods of achieving hemostasis are ineffective or dangerous. ORC has a lightweight, layered structure which “melts” into bleeding tissue creating a gel form hemostasis clot. Due to its low pH, ORC changes the structure of albumin and blood globulin, which contributes to the onset of hemostasis. Glucose copolymers undergo hydrolysis and are completely absorbed after 7-14 days under the influence of body fluids. ORC should be used in the amount necessary to achieve hemostasis. The material can be cut with sterile scissors. It should be applied under pressure directly to the bleeding surface. The amount of the ORC and the time of exposure to pressure is determined by the type and amount of bleeding. ORC is absorbed after implantation, so it can be left in the wound. Features:Creates an area of low pH causing localized vasoconstrictionORC absorbs blood and becomes a gel covering the site of vessel injury.Provides a matrix for platelet adhesion, accelerating the formation of the platelet plug that will form the foundation of the fibrin clot.All-natural ingredients ORC absorbable hemostat is composed of 100% regenerated and oxidized cellulose.Completely absorbable with resorption between 7 and 14 days, without modification of the normal healing process. Rapidly effective - With the blood, a brownish gelatinous mass forms, which contributes to the formation of the clot, which will act as a hemostatic adjuvant in controlling bleeding. In only several minutes, ORC achieves hemostasis of a hemorrhage.Antibacterial - ORC offers post-operative antibacterial protection. Hemostatic gauze contains a bactericide that is effective against a broad spectrum of gram+ and gram- organisms, as well as antibiotic-resistant bacteria such as MRSA, VRE, PSRP, and MRSA.
